Broken Shanghai - by M. Liewes 
 
Denying me any choice within, you'd stepped inside my prism, 
Not allowing for me to say yes or no, yet releasing me from my prison. 
The darkened cell that had stolen me away for so long, 
filled with thick overshadows of dust and waste. 
All of my thoughts and pain at the hands of your disposal, 
Knowing that tomorrow you may walk away. 
As I feel you rip me from my oblivion, 
there's not a thing in which I can do. 
Taking into account that I contemplate, express and respond like yourself. 
I simply have no where else to turn. 
 
Have you ever peered down into a kaleidoscope, 
and tried to make sense of all the shapes? 
Then pass it on to the person across from you, 
to only discover that they see the same. 
 
Within every diminutive whisper, 
and in every paramount word, 
they illustrate just what it is that they see, 
forcing you to realise that you're not alone in what you view. 
 
And so...you look closer at what you know you need to comprehend. 
 
No longer are those colours distorted, 
The shapes moving away from their clumsiness. 
Welcome to my realm of light, 
where fades any existing darkness...
